Central Coast Council will carry out essential water network upgrades in the Avoca Lagoon area on Tuesday, May 20.
A planned water outage will commence at approximately 5am, with water service expected to be restored by early evening if the works proceed as scheduled.
Streets affected include: Tramway Rd, Seasound Cres, Mulawa Cl, Elgata Ave, View St, Ocean St, Lake St and Bareena Ave.
Residents are advised to collect enough water to meet their consumption and hygiene needs before the interruption begins.
Water can be stored in jugs, buckets and bathtubs.
Toilets can be flushed by tipping water from a bucket into the bowl during this time.
It is important that all internal and external raps are closed during the period of interruption.
After restoration of supply, residents are advised to run the front tap (generally located near the water meter serving the property) until water becomes clear.
Internal taps should then be checked for water quality prior to use
These steps are particularly important to carry out before using any hot water services, washing machines, dishwashers or other water using devices.
The work is crucial to improving the water infrastructure in the area, ensuring that the local water service is reliable and capable of meeting future demands.
An alternative water supply will be provided for residents and available at Kiana St, North Avoca; bring your own bottles and buckets.
